Filmmaking is a passion shared by many artists from all over the world and in the African continent it is no different. In our stance to commemorate this passion we have released these Africa/African themed films. Below is an introduction to these new releases. We hope you’ll enjoy them.
2ND LIFE (Director: Jake Alexander McAfee)
In this HBO award winning Best Short Film, Madou Dosama and his wife immigrate from Africa, Burkina Faso, to America to pursue a more prosperous life. However, it’s not the journey they expected as he works multiple jobs just to get by.
THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ATLANTIC (Directors: Danielle Ellery, Márcio Câmara)
The Other Side of the Atlantic is a documentary film that builds a bridge in the Atlantic by bringing together university students from Africa who are studying in Brazil. Through their life stories this multiple award winning film tackles cultural exchanges, prejudices and dreams built on both sides of the Atlantic en route to obtaining a higher education.

RIVALIDADE (Director: Azaiaz Az)
Originally banned in Cape Verde, Rivalidadi is based on true occurrences in the capital city of Cape Verde, Praia. Two rival gangs ensue in a rivalry that leads to countless blood shed and panic in a peaceful community.
NOVA GERAÇĀO (Director: Azaiaz Az)
A man travels through inner cities in Portugal successfully swindling women until he attempts to swindle the wrong one, the local crime bosses wife.
BUSKA SANTU (Director: Samira Vera-Cruz)
A single father strives to provide for his son. But after falling on hard times his son will be the one to provide for him by returning to him his livelihood, his stolen guitar.
