RIO & ROME ROULHAC: ADOLESCENT FILMMAKERS GET NOTICED

Sisters Rio and Rome Roulhac are 11 and 8 years old and have recently completed there third short film, Don’t Let The Bed Bugs Bite. It’s a kid-friendly, creepy crawly, spine chilling, horror film.

The film was inspired by horror film classics like Night of the Living Dead and Scream. It was written and directed by the sisters and they also star in the film.

With the help of there father, Rashad Roulhac, founder and director of The Cape Verdean American Film Festival, they shot the film entirely on a cell phone.

Don’t Let The Bed Bugs Bite was edited and packaged just in time for Halloween.

The film is poised to make a run through children’s film festival circuits across the country. Those festivals include the Children’s Film Festival Seattle, Providence Children’s Film Festival, New York International Children’s Film Festival and Troma Dance Film Festival.

Rio and Rome are the youngest filmmakers of Cape Verdean descent to have a film picked up for distribution. Don’t Let The Bed Bugs Bite will be distributed on MarilynFilms.com once it makes its festival run.

We were granted a brief Q&A with the filmmaking sisters.
